The older children live in cottages with a housemother and two older “grandparents.” Children under five are housed in a separate nursery and the older boys in a hostel nearby. A large, well-equipped, English-language school serves these children as well as 580 day students from twenty-five other villages.
The Farm was begun by Dr. Pauline King, a United Church of Christ missionary. Her dream was to bring three generations under one roof, creating “a proper Indian family with the love of Jesus Christ.”
Persons looking for a short term sponsorship can support a day student at King’s Matriculation School on the Farm’s campus. Day students live in the community, and the cost for them to attend school is $130 a year.
