This center provides for children affected by the (HIV/AIDS) virus.
In many cases, both of the child’s parents have the HIV/AIDS virus. Some children have lost a parent to the disease; others have lost both parents. Even where the parents survive, they are often impoverished by the cost of medicines or are unable to work because of their illness.
The children’s letters express the difficulties they face. “With the crops [my] family collected, it can only fill our stomachs but provides no cash income.” “I was an abandoned girl. I didn’t know this until I was with other kids who have parents and asked myself why I didn’t.”
Their letters also express their gratitude for those who give them their support. “It gives us charcoal in snowy weather--providing timely help.” “Without your help, it would have been hard to even imagine me still studying in school. . . . I would like to repay you with my good grades.”
They can be sponsored for $25 a month.
